Dear mapping enthusiasts!
Some of you might have followed the latest conversations regarding the
new Intermapping process in the TransforMap Discourse. These currently
align around three concrete paths, which I would like us to discover
together:
1. Establishing a listing of associated communities and individuals
2. Restarting a monthly rhythm of engaging with the above
3. Preparing a community event in December 2018 in Berlin
These came about after a request to the Wikimedia Foundation, which
would like to (1) host us in their rooms and (2) want to support our
mapping developments with funds and guidance.
For this to work out, they have requested an overview of involved
communities, which is to be included in a formal application for
support. They are still regularily asking if we wish to proceed
together, yet unfortunately the amount of responses has been very low so
far.
I am adressing you today to seek your input on these three matters, for
which I started three individual conversations in the public forum.

The 3rd point offers two possible dates, 07. - 09.12. or 14. - 16.12.,
for an Intermapping weekend at Wikimedia in Berlin. If you consider
yourself or your organisation being affiliated with these matters, feel
invited to leave a notice about your preferred dates in the last link.
We could then respond with a positive answer to their follow up
questions and continue to prepare a weekend to meet our mapping needs.
